If BUTTER CHICKEN could speak to me,

PS: Very loose and random writing, so are emotions! :)

I would say...

"Thankyou for your selfless love and I love you more than you would ever know!"

"I am my happiest while eating you!"

"You have been through thicks and thins of life and always helped!"

For a very long time, my bio used to say, "Everything is up for a discussion, except Butter Chicken"!

If we are going to order food, whether I am meeting you for the first time or we are very close, one thing will remain constant - I will over-order, and Butter Chicken is definitely on the menu.

Yes, people say, "try something new." I will, but it'll be with Butter Chicken! Such is my commitment to the dish.

I am an ardent believer in Butter Chicken's supremacy in the world of Chicken Tikka, Malai Tikka, Keema, Seekh Kebab, Momos, Chilly Potato, Chole Bhature, Chana Kulcha, Paratha, Kadai Chicken, and Dal Makhani (although Dal Makhani comes close).

One still have a chance, but if you pair it with Butter Naan, I can't say NO to the fact.

(Already have a mouth-watering, stunning supporting imagery in my mind and looking at a clock because you can't just subside your Butter Chicken cravings, Paap Chadta Hai, let's order!)

People grow old, you lose interest!

Things lose its charm, you lose interest!

New things are invented, you lose interest!

You develop new interest, you lose old interest!

and the list goes on...

My love for Butter Chicken has never wavered. It has endured through every storm and hiccup, even amidst brief flings with Dal Makhani, only to realize that true love strikes once as Sacha Pyaar Toh Ek Baar Hi Hota Hai!

I define myself as traveller, reader, deeply fascinated by serial killers and a gourmet!

Amidst all these passions, I always find myself explaining my love for food little out loud by stating that I am a foodie who doesn't explore many cuisines (though I do explore different versions of Butter Chicken). and Butter Chicken has remained a constant love in my life, probably the only thing that has never lost its admiration for me.

Yes, I can speak about it as if it were a living being, more than I would prefer talking about any other living being. Such is the depth of my culinary affection!

#SachaPyaar

For context, I cherish 2-3 fond memories of Butter Chicken in my life!

When I was 18 or 20 years old, my brother randomly asked in a gathering, "Can she ever leave Butter Chicken?" This was him stating a Fact!

Yes, it was intimidating but also very true. My love for it is all-encompassing, probably the only form of love expression or something I hold and flaunt. :D (if it tastes too good, I can probably have a very loud PDA show!)

Then, when we were school-going kids, Wednesday used to be our STAR DAY because upon coming home, we would be treated with a full bowl of Butter Chicken for our mother

I used to spend the whole day in school with anticipation.

I hope you can feel my disappointment (on many layers) when it wasn't the case. Those days still hurts!

Once, when I fell sick, like every mother, my mother took me to the doctor and said, "Ye kuch nahi khati, bas Butter Chicken dedo!" (I must have been 15 or 16 years old)

To which, doctor said, "Toh khilao! Achi cheez hai!"

That was the best validation I got, as it paved the way for future battles with her.

Going on Butter Chicken dates with your bestfriend was the best thing!

Lastly, I was in Berlin on my 27th birthday, and it was Halloween Night. All I did was, to make it special, I had Butter Chicken in an Indian Restaurant all alone. It was the best!

Eating Butter Chicken is a very personal experience, and I am probably the most present in the moment.

To conclude, I know, when I am sad, I need Butter Chicken to up my mood. When I am happy, I need Butter Chicken to celebrate.

A human certainly cannot do this! Its a very rare connection that I found in BUTTER CHICKEN!

If you ever get a chance to see me while eating it, I am a treat to watch!

And if I haven't yet shared a meal with you from my favourite place, we've a long way to go!

<Random Drop Alert!>

While we have 'Ode to West Wind', an 'Ode to Butter Chicken' is much needed in these times:

Butter chicken, you're the epitome of comfort and flavour, just like the warmth of love itself.

With every bite, I'm reminded of how much joy and contentment you bring into my life.

Thank you for being the perfect expression of my love and for all the delightful moments we share together.

And while the world may try to sway you away from Butter Naan and pair you with Garlic Naan, stick to it! Not everyone gets this lucky in the first time. You're the best two things paired and made for each other. Tere liye vahi best hai yaar, samajh!
